Update on Benhall and Sternfield Memorial Show
The show is fast approaching and the committee are busy putting together the show.
Come and hear Honey and the Bear and watch the Point Devis morris dancers as well as Parham Paws, a dog agility display team. If you have a dog, why not enter them for the Dog Show? Maybe they’ll win the best puppy or best veteran. You can try your hand at playing chess or discuss the finer points of the game with members from Saxmundham Chess club.
For our younger visitors, watch out for Andy the Clown and maybe his assistant or the Stilt Lady in her marvellous costumes. You can enjoy watching the Punch and Judy shows and have a bounce around on an inflatable castle.
There will be refreshments too. Why not try a burger from our BBQ? Or a cup of tea and cake? Paddy and Scott will have a van for coffee, there will be ice creams, and the bar will be open in the club.
There will be various other stalls including bric-a-brac, a Photo Booth, Bottle stall and the traditional coconut shy. In the flower marquee you will be able to see the entries of vegetables, flowers, baking, produce and handicrafts.
We have a new competition this year. We’re inviting you to build a scarecrow that you can display in your garden before the show. Then on the day, bring it down to the show ground where we can display all of the scarecrows together. Another alternative is to bring it along as part of the parade, that meets on the Green at 12pm. They will be judged and the winning scarecrow will receive a rosette.
Come along and join us.
If you would like to be involved and feel you can volunteer to help run a stall, please do get in contact with us by email to firstname.lastname@example.org. We’re always pleased to have more help.
Or, come and join us at the school on Monday August 7th at 6.30pm to put up the bunting along the Street in Benhall.
The Children’s Fancy Dress Parade assembles at the bottom of Benhall Green at 12 noon; judging is at 12.15pm. The Parade will proceed to the Sports Ground at 12.30
